It is a department within the Division of Educational and Student Services.

What Services Are Available?

  • Nursing assessment, and treatment of common acute illnesses, medications and referrals when needed

  • First Aid for cuts and bruises

  • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Prevention

  • Discount medical/dental resources

  • Free brochures and literature on health-related topics

  • TB skin testing and referal

  • Nutritional counseling

  • % Body Fat Analysis

  • Blood pressure screening

  • HIV counseling, screening and referrals

  • Prevention information and referrals

  • Student Insurance information, applications, and claim forms

  • Immunizations : MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Hepatitis A and B, Flu, Meningitis

  • Allergy shots

  • Rest area for ill and/or injured client

  • Classroom presentations on health-related topics

  • Peer Education Program

  • Alcohol and other drug information, referrals, and risk reduction programs

  • Parking Permits for those with a disability or temporary medical conditions

  • Smoking cessation

What Are The Goals of Health Services?

  • To encourage you to take personal responsibility for your health by providing needed skills and information

  • To educate you about healthy living and disease prevention

  • To assist you when you are ill or injured

  • To provide you with referrals to community resources and student discount information

What Is The Cost?

All office visits and consultations are FREE. Most medications, dressing and supplies, to take care of immediate needs, are also FREE. There is a small charge for some screenings and injections.

Is Health Insurance Available?

YES! An optional insurance plan is available to students taking 6 credit hours or more. The policy provides benefits for injuries and illnesses and may be purchased annually, by semester or even on a 3 payment plan. (when paying annually only.) You must send your application and money within the first 30 days of each semester. There is a deductible, so you may save yourself some unnecessary expenses by first being seen in Health Services. Family coverage is an option. Brochures, applications, and claim forms are available in Health Services.
