I. Basic Windows Concepts:
  1. Know how to create desktop shortcuts.

  2. Be able to identify the "System Tray" and its location on the Taskbar.

  3. Know how to "Show the Desktop" from the Quick Launch toolbar and also by right-clicking on the task bar to minimize all windows.

  4. Be able to create a shortcut to the floppy drive (which you see under "My Computer").

II. Managing Files, Folders and Shortcuts:
  1. Know how to save a file using a different file name and in a different location.

  2. In applications such as Wordpad, Paint, Word, etc, know the difference between using "Save" and "Save as".

  3. Know how to delete a file.

III. Keyboard Alternatives
  1. Know how to use the keyboard (without the mouse) to access different choices in MS Office application programs.

  2. Be able to close an application program (such as Word) using the keyboard without the mouse.
