Know the Following:
I. GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Exercises and vocabulary provided in each of the chapters covered (Access, Powerpoint).
- How to get into and out of Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, and PowerPoint.
II. ACCESS:
- The difference between Database, Table, Record, & Field, and Key field, and the hierarchy that relates them, as discussed in the book.
- How to switch between database objects when you have a database window open.
- How to view the Design of your Table.
- How to write up a record (table) description for a database on a paper form, indicating the field data type.
- How to create a new table, identifying only one field as the Key Field. Know how to view the datasheet in a table.
- How to enter new data into a table.
- How to edit the data in a table.
- How to find records (one at a time) with a particular field value in a table.
- How to use filter by selection to find several records satisfying a certain criteria.
- How to do a query to show certain records with selected fields on the screen.
- Know what a Dynaset is.
- How to use the Form Wizard to construct an input form, which you can use to input data.
- How to use the Report Wizard to construct a report, and to print the report out.
- For Forms and Reports, know what a "Control" is and how to move one
around when designing a Form or Report.
III. POWERPOINT:
- The different Views available to you in PowerPoint (Normal, Slide Sorter, Notes, Slide Show). Know how to switch between views.
- How to create a new blank presentation, or one with a design template.
- How to open an existing presentation.
- How to insert a new slide into a presentation.
- How to delete a slide from a presentation.
- How to change the text of a presentation.
- How to change the background design template of a presentation.
- How to save a presentation on a diskette for use elsewhere.
- How to get help in PowerPoint.
- How to print one or all slides and views.
