1. Insert Tab - Photography Flyer (File: W07A_Photography_Flyer)

  • Setup: Margins .75, and set to "no spacing"
  • WordArt - Type in Title, then convert to WordArt, Height .7, Width 6.5, Style 8.
  • Text - Insert-Object-Text from File
  • Picture - "Ore Cart" - change from Inline Object to Floating; Text wrapping square; Adjust to 2" square, proportional
  • Picture - "Machine" - text wrapping square; move to 7" vert and 2.5" horiz.
2. Format Pictures
  • Format Ore Cart picture with a frame: Picture Format - Format - Picture Styles - Simple White; then change to Beveled Matte White.
  • Format Machine Picture with an effect - "Soft Edge" 25 point
3. Tabs
  • Tab shows on ruler; Press the Tab key - moves the insertion point horizontally
  • Different types: left, center, right, decimal
  • Setting Tabs with the Ruler versus Tabs dialog box
  • Set tabs - left .5; right 2.5, 3.5, 4.5
  • Remove the 3.5 tab; change .5 to .25; 4.5 to 4.75 - Enter data:
    Sunday     July 30    Daytime 9 - 6
    Monday    July 31    Evening 6 - 9
    Tuesday    August 1    All Day 9 - 9
4. Insert Text Box and Banner Shape
  • Enter Text Box under text, 3.5" wide x .9" hi. Enter text: "Annie DeCesare finds beauty where no one else thinks to look!" Chicago Arts Review.
  • Add an Effect to the Text Box: Drop Shadow, Shadow Style 4

  • Insert Banner Shape, to contain contact info (Right-Click). Stars and Banners, Horizontal Scroll, 1.5" by 3.5". Add an Effect, Shadow Style 4
5. Home Tab - Editing Group      (File: Apollo 11)
  • Find and Replace (far right on ribbon) - change "historic" to "famous"
  • Cut/Copy and Paste (far left on ribbon) - Select then do; drag and drop, shortcut keys; clipboard - move paragraph #2 to the be #1
  • The Clipboard - storage area for Cut and Copy
6. Columns      (File: Apollo 11)
  • Putting in a "Banner" - appears on 1st page
  • Inserting a Section Break (continuous)
  • Turning text into Columns
