The following images are interesting, in that they were shot at night, and most often in motion. I was fascinated
by the camera's (Sony Mavica) ability to capture exactly what I wanted: the lights contrasted with the blackness. I've never seen so many
trucks and gas stations.
I arrived in DC 0130 and was immediately lost. After stopping at half a dozen gas stations, purchasing 3 maps and locating the Potamac Police Station (which was locked but they gave me excellent directions!), I arrived at the Ritz-Carleton (Pentagon City) (tres elegant!) at 0430, unloaded the car and slept until 1030. Then I correctly navigated to the conference (already in session). Mike Marotta, who has since moved on to a new adventure, handed me the microphone and explained introductions were in order. I considered using an alias, but took a deep breath and said "Hi, I'm Frances from Little Rock and glad to finally be here! Better late than never..." and was greeted with the warmest "Hello, Frances!" I have ever received. A great sense of relief washed over me!
I an unable to say enough about the participants in our training conference group. They are true professionals, they are committed to knocking down the barriers of misinformation and inaccessibility. They are without a doubt, also compassionate and courageous. The trainers who took our group on, were likewise committed AND patient. I HIGHLY recommend the CSUN trainings and conferences!
