This year again, we were honored to have on our campus another real-life hero, Capt. Jerry Foreman, Army Special Forces, who spoke to us and suggested that we remember the Veterans among us. To him, heroes are those who help others, whether Veterans or otherwise. Our Chapter One President, Capt Jack Keen, reminded us of those who put their lives on the line: at Bunker Hill, at Gettysburg, at Iwo Jima, at DaNang, the Pentagon and the World Trade Centers. They are the heroes...
For Veterans Day 2000, we were honored to have on the UALR campus, a real-life hero, Lt. Col. Woodrow W. Crockett. What a fine gentleman! He spoke after the raising of the United States flag by our member honor guard and introductions by National President, Harold Pelton and Chapter One President, Dean Ferguson.

This link is a picture of Lt. Col Crockett as he relaxes in the DSC enjoying the company and refreshments with Dr. Donaldson and Dr. Johanna Lewis. Dr. Lewis, a member of our History Department faculty, has spent considerable time researching the Tuskegee Airmen. Dr. Charles Donaldson received an honorary membership from National President of Phi Chi Sigma, Harold Pelton.

Last night we also had the honor of the Marine Corp Band! They are outstanding! This preformance kicked off their annual "Toys For Tots" drive. The brass was great!

This is a series of shots panning the whole band...

But check back later...more to come!
