How does one borrow a piece of equipment from the FSRR?

Any of our "to loan" usually can be requested for immediate use on a first come, first serve basis. However, it is almost always necessary to reserve items. We keep a two week calender and can reserve any piece of equipment from 1/2 hour to over the weekend. Some items are not available for extended loan out. For details, please call us at 569-8706.

Any item must be signed out at check out and will be checked back in upon return.

How does one start a web page?

  1. Is the web page for a department, project, or an organization?
    Yes? The head of the department or organization must apply for an Athena account.
    No? Your personal Athena account will be the home for your web page.
  2. After the account has been granted, a www subdirectory must be created using the command
    $ Create/Dir [.www]
  3. Place the HTML documents in the www directory. One of the easiest way to accomplish this is by FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or using Fetch on the MAC. An easier method is to create the HTML documents on the Vax using a text editor such as EDT or LSE.
    The main page MUST be named index.html or index.htm
  4. Department page? Send email to WEBMASTER@UALR.EDU requesting a link be added to UALR homepage. Include in the message the department and account name.
