Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society
Alpha Beta Kappa is the UALR chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. There are currently more than 700 chapters around the world. Members share their love of literature with their peers and participate in a wide range of social and service activities. Each spring, members of Sigma Tau Delta are afforded the opportunity to give papers at the national meeting. They may also send submissions to the two literary magazines maintained by the national organization, and they may apply for numerous awards and scholarships. Alpha Beta Kappa, the local chapter, currently has nineteen members.
Requirements for Membership
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, both in English and in the University overall
- Have completed at least three semesters of college work
- Have completed two English courses
