Financial Package

Arkansas students accepted into the Donaghey Scholars Program receive full tuition, fees, and a generous stipend. The Donaghey Scholars Program also provides additional funding to assist Scholars in their summer Study Abroad experience. In 2005-2006, with tuition and fees rangiong from approximately $5000-$6000 per year, and the minimum stipend at $4000 per year, the total value of the financial package for eight semesters, when support for study abroad is included, is over $40,000. The precise value depends on the level of stipend the student receives.

A limited number of students with outstanding credentials will receive enhanced stipends of $6,500 per year; National Merit Finalists and Governor's Distinguished Scholars admitted to the Scholars Program will receive stipends of $9,000. Factors which determine the stipend level a Scholar is awarded include standardized test scores and academic honors and awards. Currently, stipends are the following amounts (per year):

  • Level 1 Stipend                                     $ 4,000
  • Level 2 Stipend                                     $ 6,500
  • Level 3 Stipend                                     $ 9,000

International students and out-of-state students, once admitted into the program, are eligible for the Scholars stipend and the in-state portion of tuition and fee costs; when funds permit, some non-resident students may receive full tuition support.

Students who fulfill the requirements of the Donaghey Scholars Program are eligible for continued support for up to four years.

Students who enter the program from UALR and who have already received one or more semesters of a UALR tuition scholarship should be advised that UALR does not provide more than a total of eight semesters of tuition scholarship.
