Final Projects
All Donaghey Scholars complete a capstone project during their last year in the Program. The project often has an interdisciplinary component, though it is grounded in the student's major field of study. The student selects a three member advisory faculty committee and works closely with them throughout the final project process.
Scholars must submit a formal proposal (guidelines available) to the Policy Council for approval of the final project they choose to do prior to their last two semesters in the Program (generally the summer before entering their last year).
Prior to the final presentation of their projects, Scholars are asked to present a dry-run of the work they have done to the First Year Scholars in the first-year Colloquium class (usually in the spring semester).
Once the work of the project is completed, Scholars offer a presentation of their project for their committee, the Scholars staff, Scholars, and other faculty, and then submit a final written copy of the work (or description of the work) they have done, along with any digital formats available, which is placed in the files of the Donaghey Scholars Program office for future reference by other Scholars.
