Our Mission...

The Donaghey Scholars Program endeavors to offer its students a supportive, nurturing environment which fosters intellectual and personal growth. Our honors program is structured so that each Scholar may make the most of the important social and intellectual connections UALR provides. With our interdisciplinary courses, foreign study experience, and tight community of students, the Donaghey Scholars Program provides the resources and opportunities for its honors students to excel during their undergraduate experience and to become fully prepared for their next endeavor.

Donaghey Scholas have won Truman, Goldwater, National Schience Foundation, Rotary, and Fulbright scholarships; the first female Rhodes Scholar in Arkansas competition's history was a Donaghey Scholar (1996), and Arkansas' first-ever Mitchell Scholar was our own Georgia Miller (2002). In recent years, half of the state's finalist for the Truman Scholarship have been Donaghey Scholars.

Although this website provides an overview of our program, we encourage all prospective students to contact us (501-569-3389 or via e-mail ) and set up a time to visit some of our classes so that we can demonstrate why the Donaghey Scholars Program is one of our nation's premier honors programs.
