Campus Campaign Posts Increase in Dollars
Dr. Tom McMillan, chair of UALR’s Campus Campaign Steering Committee, announced today that UALR faculty and staff raised $428,228 in the 2009 campaign, an increase in participation and tied the second all-time high participation in the fundraising effort.
“Even in difficult economic times, our faculty and staff continue to further validate their work through their generous support,” said Bob Denman, executive director of development at UALR. “Our campus community believes in the institution’s mission and that is an example for all constituents to follow.”
The totals show that 47 percent of UALR faculty and staff made pledges to support University programs and scholarships.
The total exceeds the previous campaign by $60,000. Chancellor Joel E. Anderson encouraged new participation in the campaign by pledging to match $15 of each new participant’s pledge.
