Bowen School of Law Honors James W. Spears with Portrait Unveiling

Join us as we honor the memory of James W. Spears, a great teacher of law and long-time faculty member of the William H. Bowen School of Law. 

On Thursday, October 29 from 5:00-6:30pm in the Dean’s Gallery, second floor of the Bowen School of Law, a portrait will be unveiled commemorating the James W. Spears Endowment, established by his wife Susanne Roberts, for the Legal Clinic.  The unveiling is at 5:30pm.  Please RSVP to 501.324.9967 or tabittle1@ualr.edu.

First College of Business Dean’s Forum

Walter “Walt” Pavlo Jr., former MCI WorldCom executive who was imprisoned for white collar crime and co-author of “Stolen Without a Gun,” will inaugurate the UALR College of Business Dean’s Forum with his life story of when business ethics go awry.

The Gathering - Ottenheimer Library Fundraiser

The UALR Ottenheimer Library Development Board and the Ottenheimer Library invite you to the historical home of UALR Alumna Alda Ellis for great food, music, and a tour to celebrate Magnolia Hill’s placement on the National Registry of Historic Places. Proceeds benefit the Library’s Student Worker Award.

Art Exhibit Opening at Sequoyah National Research Center

The Sequoyah National Research Center is proud to announce, in conjunction with our 9th Annual Research Symposium, the opening of a new exhibition in the J.W. Wiggins Native American Art Gallery.

Curated by Hendrix College undergraduate history student and SNRC summer intern, Courtney Taylor, “Protest and Parody: A Native Response to Americanization” will open to the general public on Saturday, 24 October at 1:00 pm. Ms. Taylor will be on hand to discuss the exhibition and the SNRC staff will be available for short tours of the SNRC facility. The Gallery is located at University Plaza, Suite 500, on the south side of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus.
