Summer Strings, 2008
June 23-27

The UALR Community School of the Arts announces a comprehensive five day program for violin, viola, cello, and double bass players at the elementary, junior and high school levels. Students must have had one year of string study on their particular instruments in order to qualify for this program. Activities include chamber music ensembles, music theory and listening classes, and optional sectionals focusing on the 2008 Junior High All-Region audition materials. Classes will meet from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Fine Arts building, located in the northwest corner of the UALR campus.

The first session will meet in room 119 (band rehearsal room) where students will receive class schedules for the week. The program will conclude on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. performance for family and friends in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.


Tuition: $100 "early bird" special: register prior to June 13th (check, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover cards.)


Cancellations made to the CSA office at least one week prior to the camp will receive a 50% refund.
"No shows" are not eligible for refunds of any kind.

To register for Summer Strings is to agree to the terms within.

As a special courtesy to Summer Strings students, a limited number of private lessons will be given, either before or after the regular program, at a rate of $10 per half-hour lesson. These lessons can be arranged on the first day of the program, on a first-come, first-serve basis, directly with the instructor of your choice. Private lesson fees should be paid directly to the instructor.
