Tuition

Except for the Summer Arts Camp and Summer Strings programs, prices listed are for one semester only. The full tuition is due before the first day of lesson unless a payment plan has been arranged with the registrar. Limited payment plans are available for those who need them. For returning students (one year), one-third of tuition is due prior to the first day of class (plus a $15 installment plan fee and a $10 registration fee), the 2nd third in thirty days, and the final third due by the 60th day. For first year students, 50% is due by first day of class (plus a $15 installment plan fee and a $10 registration fee), and the remaining 50% is due in thirty days. Students are not admitted to lessons until tuition is paid in full or arrangements have been made with the registrar prior to the first day of lessons. Students who do not maintain their payment plan will be barred from lessons. Poorly managed accounts may result in the school's rejection of a student for readmission. UALR accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checks. Returned checks or invalid credit cards will require a $25 fee, plus a bank check/money order for the amount of the check. *Summer Arts Camps and Summer Strings deposits are nonrefundable and nontransferable. See details located on Summer Strings and Summer Arts Camp registration forms.

Responsibility

The student (in the case of a minor: parent or legal guardian) must assume responsibility for all personal property while the student is on the premises. Neither UALR, nor the UALR Community School of the Arts, can assume any responsibility for personal injury, loss of, or damage to, personal property of any kind. Parents of minor students must be attentive to picking up their children on time as faculty and staff members will provide no supervision of students beyond the time limits of the scheduled class or lesson. Registration in any Community School class or lesson is to agree to the terms described within.

Refund policy

Students who cancel within the first week of the term are responsible for the first week of lessons and the registration fee. No refunds will be made after the first week. If a student drops after the first week, the student or parent is responsible for paying the entire tuition due. Tuition and fees are nontransferable. This refund policy does not apply to the Summer Arts Camp programs, or Summer Strings. See refund policy details described on specific program registration forms.

Missed lessons

Students are responsible for attending all lessons and classes at the scheduled time. They must notify the Community School or their teacher, in advance, if they will be absent. It is our policy not to make up missed lessons by students. However, all lessons missed by the teacher will be rescheduled. Excessive absences may bar students from re-enrollment.

Inclement Weather

UALR will announce cancellation by radio and television. The Community School will follow the regular UALR class closings.

Parking

Parking on the UALR campus requires a UALR permit, even for visitors. Low-priced parking permits are available through the Community School for $5. Permits (hang tags) enable the student or parent to park throughout the semester for short periods of time in the metered lot (without having to feed the meter!) near the Fine Arts building, or in any legal parking spot on campus, excluding reserved lots. Lot #13 and #14 on 28th Street are always good choices on busy days. Parents may drop off students in the circular drive behind the Fine Arts building and then find parking. On Fridays after 1:00 pm and all day Saturday, reserved lots are open to the public.

Dismissal Policy

The UALR Community School of the Arts reserves the right to deny readmission to any student whose financial account is in poor standing. This includes, but is not limited to: late payment, incomplete or nonpayment, returned checks, denied credit cards. Re-enrollment may also be denied to students who have a habit of arriving late to lessons, missing lessons, or not participating in or preparing for lessons, according to their teacher's minimum requirements. Unsocialized disruptions, or disrespectful behavior, are grounds for dismissal at any time. To enroll in the Community School of the Arts is to agree to the terms within.
