Changing your Password in Messenger Express

Refer to the following for information regarding your email password.

Also see Password Requirements for more on passwords at UALR.

When to change your password...

  • the first time you log on to MAIL.UALR.EDU.
  • any time you think your password has been compromised.
  • any time you feel like it.
  • at least every 90 days.

How to do it...

If you know your email password...

  1. Log onto http://mail.ualr.edu using any browser.
    (Your password is initially your ID Number.)
  2. Select Options from the Menu bar
  3. Select Password from the list on the left
  4. Input your old (current) password
  5. Input your new password
  6. Retype your new password (To confirm it was typed correctly the first time)
  7. Once you are satisfied with the new password, click "Change Password"

If you do not know your email password...

  1. Log in to http://boss.ualr.edu
  2. Go to the Personal Information section.
  3. Click the link for View Usernames and Change Passwords on UALR Computing Systems.
  4. Place a checkmark in the row for Mail.
  5. Enter a new password twice in the boxes below.
  6. Click the Change Password button. The change may take a few seconds to complete.
  7. Click Exit to log out of BOSS. Try logging in to http://mail.ualr.edu again with your new password.
