Next, using your power user skills, conduct a Google search for the term business soft skills and be prepared to discuss your findings next week

1. Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A42Tab_bu6A. In your blog, briefly discuss if the opinions expressed in the video match your workplace experience.
2. Blog your thoughts on your listening challenge (we all have one) and what you will do to meet that challenge. Also, who can you get to be your coach?
3. Prepare a two minute personal introduction to be given in class on the 19th.
Purpose: to become better acquainted; to strengthen presentation skills; and to set a presentation goal for the semester.
Content: Some possible topics might include these and any others you choose. Don’t try to cover all of them! Pick two or three.

Hobbies
Major and why you chose it, what you plan to do with it
Travel
Education
Work
And anything else you choose
If talking in front of a group is not your favorite thing to do, you might try writing what you want to say just to get your thoughts organized. You may not read what you have written!
It is a time for us to get to know one another better and to set a bench mark for presentation skills.
No PowerPoint this time. That comes later.

- Homework: You have seen a presentation about conflict styles. Please enter a blog and discuss your preferred conflict style and how that has worked or not worked for you. An example would be great!

- 6x6 rule - max six lines per slide, six words per line
- Good contrast between background and font
- Clear and consise wording
- Sans Sarif fonts such as Ariel, Comic Sans, Helvetica, Verdana
- Nothing smaller than 36 font size
- Images instead of phrases and no complete sentences unless its a quote
- Have a background that is congruent with the topic
- One transition throughout if you use one at all
- Not too many exclamation points and I mean it!!!!!!!!!!
- One theme throughout the presentation
- Blank slide at beginning and at the end
