When describing analogous
cases, the memo writer details only those facts that were central to the
court's holding and that are comparable to the facts of the writer's problem.
As you read the sample memo, pay close attention to the factual descriptions
of the cases, and then think about how those facts are used later when
the writer applies the law to his problem.
