Bachelor of Arts in Interpretation: ASL/English

Pulaski Technical College

Pulaski Technical College began offering American Sign Language I as a second language option in Fall 2006, using methodology and materials that are compatible with UALR’s Interpreter Education Program. The plan is to expand to upper level course offerings in upcoming semesters. Students who take ASL at Pulaski Tech can transition to upper level ASL and interpreting classes at UALR, and those students who would like to transfer to UALR and major in Interpreting may take UALR courses (INTR 4340 Deaf Culture, INTR 2342 Introduction to Interpreting) concurrently while enrolled at Pulaski Tech. These courses should be taken before program completion at Pulaski Tech to reduce the amount of time from transfer to degree completion.

Interested students should contact Ms. Karen Wisdom at Pulaski Tech (UALR’s liaison) at (501) 812-2255 or Ms. Linda Stauffer at (501) 569-3169 to discuss their program of study options.
