This is not meant to be a scientific poll in any sense. We are simply trying to get the opinion of as many women of the state as possible. Please feel free to be as lengthy as you desire in your answers or not to answer questions and to pass the questionnaire along in hard copy to those without computers. 1. In what region of the state did you grow up?

2. As a child, what did your family do for a living?

3. As you were growing up were the household chores gender specific (i.e. girls did laundry, while boys chopped wood)?
If so, describe the typical chores for males and females.

11. What were/are typical jobs for women in your geographic area?

12. In your opinion, is there a drastic difference in jobs because of race?

13. In your work experience, do you think you were/are paid fairly?
For example, the same pay as a man who performed the same or equivalent amount of work.

14. Do you see your job simply as a way to support yourself and/or your family or as a career?

15. What are your honest perceptions about the different geographic areas of the state (i.e. delta, Ozarks, etc.) with regards to educational standards, poverty levels, employment, etc?

16. In your own words, describe the changes that have occurred in your life concerning women's advancements.
How are women's roles in homes different now than when you were a little girl, young woman, and now?

17. If you could make one change in the roles of women today what would that change be? (i.e. better pay, more rights, better healthcare, etc.)

18. What is one thing you would like to see a woman achieve in the next five years?

19. Compared with your mother's life, how is yours different.
Do you work full time outside of the home while she stayed at home with children?
Do you have fewer household chores?
Do you have more education?

20. Do you think your mother influenced this change in any way? (i.e. did she encourage you to get a better education?)

21. In pursuing your education or career did you have any female role models or mentors?
