AED is a national premedical honor society. It was started in 1926 to encourage distinction in premedical study, stimulate appreciation in premedical education, and bring students with similar interests together. Dr. Hodges, a professor in the Chemistry Department, created the Arkansas Gamma Chapter in 1980.
The Arkansas Gamma Chapter of AED is dedicated to informing and preparing premedical students of UALR for their futures in various fields of medicine.
UALR students who are:
- Pre-Medical
- Pre-Pharmacy
- Pre-Veterinary Medicine
- Seeking a career in Public Health
- Seeking a career in any of the Health Related Professions
should strongly consider joining AED.
