Academic Advising

Your Advising Appointment

Advising is required twice a year (once in the summer/fall and once in the spring) regardless of your track and provides an opportunity for you to discuss your educational plans.  Declared majors should call their respective departments.  If you are undeclared, then we look forward to visiting with you.

In-PersonTo set up an appointment, call (501) 569-8688 or (501) 569-3386.  We are located on the main UALR Campus at 2801 South University Avenue, Little Rock, AR  72204.  Once you get to campus, you can either park in one of the metered lots or on an open lot (i.e. no fee for parking there).  The closest open parking lot is located on the corner of Asher and University.  From there, it will take about 10-15 minutes to walk to Ross Hall; we are located in Room 406.

E-AdvisingStudent e-mail advising is available year-round through University College.  E-Advising deadlines are May 15th for the summer, June 30th for the fall, and October 30th for the spring.
To be e-advised, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Student Status: Be an undeclared major (not participating in ACT 1014) or be working towards the Associate of Arts in General Studies (AAGS).
  • GPA Requirement: Have at least a 2.00 semester and cumulative GPA.
  • Developmental Coursework: Have completed all required developmental coursework with a grade of C or better.
  • Authorization Form: Complete and submit an ‘Authorization Form‘ in person or via fax at (501) 569-8732.

For e-advising, direct your e-mail to an advisor and include the following:

  1. your student I.D. number,
  2. your intended major,
  3. the courses you plan to take, and
  4. questions and/or clarifications you may have.

The use of your student UALR e-mail account is required for security purposes. Please allow a minimum of 3 business days to process your request. Once your request is approved, your advisor will send an e-mail to your UALR account, after which you will be able to register for your classes.
