AAIMS 2010 - 2011 Results
- 36,421 total AP exams taken with 10,949 qualifying scores (30.1%) in 2010-11
- AP students took an average of 1.7 AP exams in 2010-11
- The numbers above represent a five –year overall increase of 32% in students taking an AP exam and a 46% increase in students receiving qualifying scores (2007-2011)
- African American AP exams taken increased 8.1% from 2009-10 with an increase of 15.4% receiving qualifying scores
- Hispanic AP exams taken increased 22% from 2009-10 with an increase of 12.4% receiving qualifying scores
- AAIMS’ 31 Program schools represent only 10% of all public high schools in Arkansas yet AAIMS:
- Accounted for 39% of all qualifying scores in AP math, science, and English in 2010-11 (2,580 out of 6600 qualifying scores)
- Accounted for 45% of all Female qualifying scores in AP math, science, and English in 2010-11 (457 out of 1,022 qualifying scores)
- Accounted for 54% of all African American and Hispanic qualifying scores in AP math, science, and English in 2010-11 (274 out of 510 qualifying scores)
- Accounted for 43% of all Low Income qualifying scores in AP math, science, and English in 2010-11 (1,243 out of 2,863 qualifying scores)
- Accounted for 66% of the entire state’s increase in math and science Exams (increased by 240 from 871 to 1111 and the state increased 365 from 2137 to 2502)
- Accounted for 62% of the entire state’s increase in math and science Exams by African Americans and Hispanics (90 out of a total of 146)
- AAIMS program schools average a 53% increase in qualifying scores for all students in their first year of participation in the incentive program
- AAIMS program schools average a 102% increase in qualifying scores for African Americans and Hispanics in their first year of participation in the incentive program
