Phi Chi Sigma: Chapter History

Phi Chi Sigma: Chapter History

Phi Chi Sigma is a natural outgrowth of an active veteran community on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. We original twelve tried different ways and different organizations to address our desires. Nothing seemed to fit what we were trying to accomplish.

Our primary concerns were to bring the veterans together in a group where our needs could be addressed; to pull membership from students, staff, and faculty; to emphasize scholarship; to build solidarity based on the veteran experience; to serve each other and our immediate community; and from this base, to reach out to other educational institutions and involve other veterans in our dream.

This corps solidified into Phi Chi Sigma, National Veterans' Fraternity, during the Spring semester of 1999. We first formed a National Organization. The first local chapter followed immediately with the induction of forty-five (45) charter members as:

University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Chapter One.

We are constantly seeking ways in which to deserve this trust and faith placed in the Fraternity. We actively seek interested veterans and non-veterans who want become part of a fraternity founded on the principles of scholarship, service and solidarity.
